About jewstontexas.org
Jewstontexas.org is a project of Houston Hillel.
Hillel? Isn't that just for college students?
Au contraire!
For more than a decade Houston Hillel has created a sense of community among Jewish graduate students and young professionals. In fact, we spend about half of our professional time and resources on the over-21 crowd - young professionals and graduate students at local universities, medical schools and law schools.
Our signature programs are Jews & Brews (it is just as it sounds) and Shabbat dinners specifically for Jewish twentysomethings. We do lots of other stuff, of course, but our real pride and joy is creating a sense of community among Houston's Jews in their twenties. Whatever Jewstontexas program you happen to attend is really just our way of helping you make new friends and deepen the relationships you already have.
At jewstontexas.org you'll find a resource if you're moving to Houston from another community. Check out the 8? to learn what other Jewish twentysomethings find exciting and fun in H-town. Read the Articles - written by other Jewstontexas participants - which cover a wide range of useful and off-the-wall topics. Most of all, take a look at our Events, find one that looks interesting, and make some new friends. Keep up-to-date by signing up for our Email and joining our Facebook group. We'd love for you to give us a call to say hello, suggest a program, or write an article. You'll find all our information on the Contact page.
Many interest groups make up Jewstontexas, among them are Jews & Brews, Jewstontexas Shabbat, Gals Only Poker Potluck, Med Center gatherings, Lex Judaica, Jewish Law Student Association, Tennis League, Potluck Shabbat, Torah Yoga, Weekend Walkers, Intramural Sports League.

Matt Greenstein came up with the name "jewstontexas" during one of our Jews & Brews nights. (He's in the Jews & Brews pic below, third from the right.) Thanks, Matt. Our second and third choices were nowhere near as cool and creative as your suggestion.
